The Lacopus are a reptilian species that has been allied with humanity since the beginning. The Lacopus were the first intelligent alien species that humans ever met. This meetup paved the way for the coevolution of the galaxy's two most powerful species. In modern times the Lacopus are found on a multitude of planets carrying out field work for the space fearing humans. This dynamic has gone on for 20 million years and caused the Lacopus to evolve a body well suited for almost any planet. Special muscles aid in different kinds of gravity while thick scales regulate temperature while also filtering toxic air incredibly well. A planet must have a real harsh environment if a Lagopus can't live there. Despite being so well suited for any environment this species tends to live in space stations along side humans. The species is no where near as intelligent as humans due to their brains being so different. The "brain" of a Lacopus is more of a specialized nerve that stores memories; the nervous system is the real brain, thick nerves spread throughout the body connecting the mind to every part. This gives the Lacopus complete control of their body, this can be as general as moving a limb or as specific as commanding certain immune cells. This makes Lacopus doctors act more like yoga instructors. While it may sound cruel that Humanity has made the Lacopus their laborer's, it was actually a decision made by the Lacopus themselves. The Lacopus can turn off their ability to think and consciousness while their body continues to perform tasks, a sort of autopilot mode. This makes repetitive menial tasks no problem for the Lacopus. The Lacopus are the second most powerful species in the galaxy due to their close ties with humans and have an equal authority level to humanity. Their so intertwined with us that most other races tend to group them in when referring to Humanity
