Log 30, baby steps. This mountain is ancient; analysis of the stones shows that most of them are millions of years old. The further up the older it seems to get. This old age probably explains why different species were able to adapt so well to such a unique environment. The mountain even wishes to show me its age, a large bolt of lightning cracked open a large rock, inside were fossils! That alone is exciting but dating revealed that these bones went back to almost the earliest primordial times of Murkosia. I couldn’t use a time projector since fossils move a lot, so I’ll have to use the old method of comparing vestigial structures. Quickly though that method became problematic since this fossil shares structures with nearly every organism. I believe then that this was the first land animal to ever exist on Murkosia. It has the basic form of almost all the bodily structures on this planet, hooks on the bones that muscles tie to, a strong and thick ribcage, no eye sockets, and only an upper jaw. I’ve made a recreation of what this creature might’ve looked like. The mouth was circular with long lips, this circular mouth eventually diverged into split faced and split jawed creatures. Eyes were three sensory lumps that responded to light differences, this eventually became more advanced as the lumps developed into separate organs. And of course, it had an elbow which splits into two arms. This was certainly an interesting find, I’m not into paleontology myself as the thought of once was upsetting to me, especially thinking about how many extinct species we’ll never find out about, gone forever. I log so that we can’t forget.
