Log 31

Log 29, Arpulgur. Furthering up the mountain the air starts to crackle with electricity, even the rocks stick up straight. Georg noticed that we were being stalked, the sound of footsteps and electricity was heard around us. A creature then ran out and immediately investigated the droid. This showed that they were only interested in the energy within our tech rather than the meat of our bones. This species is the largest I’ve seen on the mountain with them sporting a modest 5.4 feet on average. Despite the size they are nothing but skin and bone. Like the lightning rods their skin is covered with conductive mold for sustenance, however this species can get extra nutrients by feasting on lightning rods. The bones of these creatures can store electricity very well, with the arms, horns, and spine being major clusters of electricity. They use this build up of energy to zap lightning rods by shooting mass amounts of electricity from their prong like arms. This overloads and kills the lightning rod where the mesh of liquids is sucked up by fangs. For this I’ve given them the name Arpulgurs. Thankfully the electricity shot is only harmful to conductive beings. I’ve also noticed the arpulgur’s ability to sense the electromagnetic fields of individuals. This works to dodge predators and to sense food. I imagine the droid’s field attracted them from miles away. They’re very curious, they probaly don’t get a lot of visitors on the mountain. They’re really interested in Georg; he isn’t a fan of them though.
