Log 28

Log 26, Ice breakers. Thankfully the creature that attacked me didn’t die and was only knocked out by the droid’s punch, this allowed me to study the specimen in depth. Ice breakers, as I've called them, are in fact NOT filter feeders and use their sharp teeth and powerful serrated tentacles to consume any prey that they can catch. Ice breakers are nearly 50ft long which makes them easy to spot for prey. This means that ice breakers are ambush predators, with blue skin and stipes that mimick shadows in the water they blend in with the lake allowing them to wait below the surface or on the floor to snatch up food. I call them ice breakers since I’ve seen them use their powerful jaws and large head to crush small ice chunks with creatures on them. The ice breakers third eye is located on the tail and spots creatures comming from behind as well as seeing things like prey from above. This encounter has certainly changed my viewpoint on life and death, every attack I’ve been in was always a predator acting on instinct. Even if you spare a planet or don’t harm any life forms, species will still hunt one another, sapient or not, beings still need to eat.
