Log 25, basket shark. This icy ocean holds a relic of the past. A species I call basket sharks have a body plan that goes back to the middle of Murkosia’s Cambrian explosion. The body of this species is a look into the first true animal on this planet. Onto the creature itself, basket sharks are carnivorous hunters that swallow prey whole. The mouth starts close to the eyes, but elongated teeth extend far out with a lip covering them. When catching prey, the basket shark will flare these teeth and grab fish with them like a claw. I believe this circular mouth was a trait of the first animal. The eyes are very old school on this creature, simple organs that process light differences via a set of folds that send signals to the brain. This makes basket sharks ambush predators that use other acute senses to pure prey when need be. Basket sharks are both fast and agile, out swimming most fish and able to quickly navigate their environment with ease. Jeez I’ve never been this far away from the droid before, can barely see the thing. It can definitely see me though; those things are equipped with mini omega telescopes. I’m going to make it to the edge of the icy coast to see if I can find more life, I’ve seen tails rise from the water so, something big might be out there.
